Community Rules

    General Rules

  1. Our North American servers are an English-speaking community. Use of other languages may result in spam punishment(s).
  2. Comply with any warning or instruction given by the staff team. This includes being asked to change topics.
  3. Users should remain civil with each other at all times.

    4. *Violation of these rules will result in a kick or a ban.

    Username Rules

  4. Usernames must contain 3 consecutive alphanumeric characters and be readable. The first character cannot be "#, *, or ^".
  5. Usernames cannot be used if found to be disturbing or likely to instigate drama.

    6. *Violation of these rules will result in a ban.

    Prohibited Actions

  6. Slurs are not welcome in this community. Any attempt to bypass slur filters will result in a punishment.
  7. Advertising of any other servers unrelated to Giant's Lair is not allowed and will result in punishment at a Lead Admin's discretion.
  8. Pornographic or disturbing content is not allowed within the community.
  9. Harassment of other users is prohibited. This includes name-calling or shaming another user.
  10. Illegal discussions are prohibited in the community.
  11. Any attempt to dox another user will result in severe punishment.

Traitorous Acts
  • Shooting players or near them (traitor baiting).
  • Not identifying bodies.
  • Throwing combobulators, discombobulators, incendiary grenades, or boogie bombs.
  • Calling a KOS on innocents or detectives, or causing damage to them.
  • Damaging traitor testers or health stations.
  • Being identified as a traitor by testing.
  • Activating, deploying, or equipping traitor-only weapons.
  • Hiding traitor equipment.
  • Entering, leaving, or being in a traitor-only room.
  • Approaching players with an explosive prop.
  • Blocking players in hazardous areas.
  • Pushing players off heights, near edges, or into hazards.
  • Placing/Holding props in areas where players may be damaged by them.

Gameplay Rules
  1. No RDM
    2.
    • RDM is causing damage to another player without valid reason, even if they gave permission.
    • AFK players may be killed when there are less than 2 minutes left in the round.
  2. Kill on Sight (KOS)
    3.
    • KOS means calling out a player as a traitor.
    • Responsibility for the damage to a KOS’d player is on the player who called the KOS.
    • Repeating a KOS may make you the original source. This includes stating a KOS in the form of a question.
    • You may attack a player being shot by a detective, unless the detective is baiting others.
    • You can be killed for being tazed. The detective is at fault and will be held accountable for RDM.
  3. Guilt by Association (GBA)

    • A player is GBA if they witness (or could reasonably witness) a traitorous act and do not react when safe to do so.
    • The victim of a traitorous act cannot be considered GBA.
    • Not killing a KOS’d player is not GBA.
  4. Warning Teammates
    5.
    • You must warn teammates before using items that may cause damage (all grenades except smoke).
    • Warnings must be timely and allow teammates to clear the area.
    • You do not need to warn for placing C4, death stations, or tripwires unless placed in high-traffic areas.
  5. Crossfire
    6.
    • Crossfire is accidentally damaging someone while targeting a valid player.
    • Crossfire is not considered RDM.
    • Does not apply to prop kills (except the barrel launcher traitor weapon).
    • Radio commands may count as crossfire if misdirected.
  6. Grace Period

    • You may be killed for a traitorous act for up to 3 seconds after identifying a traitor’s body.
  7. Common Sense

    • If you are 100% certain a player is a traitor based on direct evidence, you may kill them.
  8. Forgiveness

    • The victim must forgive the RDM for the report to be voided.
    • Mass RDM and RDM chains cannot be forgiven.
  9. Prop Pushing / Blocking / Throwing and Surfing
    10.
    • Allowed, but traitorous if damage is likely.
    • Prop surfing into unreachable areas is not allowed.
  10. Camping / Delaying
    11.
    • No camping or delaying when most players are dead.
  11. No Claiming Rooms

Punishment Lengths

RDM / Mass RDM
  • 1 slay per RDM. 4 RDMs = Mass RDM.
  • 1st Offense: 1-day ban.
  • 2nd Offense: 1-week ban.
  • 3rd Offense: 2-week global ban.
  • 4th Offense: 4-week global ban.
  • 5th Offense: 8-week global ban.
  • 6th Offense: Permanent ban.

Porn / Disturbing Content
  • 1st Offense: 2-week global ban.
  • 2nd Offense: 4-week global ban.
  • 3rd Offense: 8-week global ban.
  • 4th Offense: Permanent ban.

Harassment
  • 1st Offense: Warn.
  • 2nd Offense: 1-day ban.
  • 3rd Offense: 1-week ban.
  • 4th Offense: 2-week global ban.

Slurs / Hateful Conduct
  • 1st Offense: Kick / Warn.
  • 2nd Offense: 5-day ban.
  • 3rd Offense: 2-week global ban.
  • 4th Offense: 1-month global ban.

Spam
  • 1st Offense: Gag/Mute.
  • 2nd Offense: Round gag/mute.
  • 3rd Offense: 1-day ban.
  • 4th Offense: 5-day ban.

False Reports / Bad Name / Door Breaking
  • 1st Offense: Warn.
  • 2nd Offense: Kick.
  • 3rd Offense: 1-day ban.
  • 4th Offense: 5-day ban.

Ghosting / Game Throwing
  • 1st Offense: 4-week global ban.
  • 2nd Offense: 8-week global ban.
  • Future offenses: Double previous length.
  • If your original ban is shorter, it will be extended to match the evasion penalty.
