Previous staffing experience
mod on sgm for a while until it got tumultuous in 2019. came back, became admin for some amount of time, until it's closure, then founded AHG with some other bizarre folks, where i was admin and lead for a while, until i got tired of waiting for s&box to be a thing.
i also have staffed jailbreak servers, as well as staffed and ran a darkrp community. I joined STTT c. 2013, so i am very, very familiar with communities much like this.
Why should you be considered for a moderator position?
Do you meet all the minimum requirements listed in the Requirements Thread?
i meet your requirements.
Why do you want to join the Giants Lair staff team?
i have lots of experience that i think could be beneficial. i was also told a couple of times to do it.
What skills or experiences do you bring to the team?
lots -- there haven't been many times in my life where I haven't been responsible for a group of people in one way or another. i also know these rules like the back of my hand. i probably know them better than the back of my hand. i do not look at the back of my hand very often.
How committed can you be — short-term and long-term?
i am active in the community. as long as the no hour req thing doesn't change, i can chill.
How much time can you realistically dedicate to staffing?
depends on how you define "staffing". i am a full time student, i have a job, and other obligations. that's not to say i won't ever be on, it just will be a far cry from the 15 hour in game req of the past. i have been told that this is of no matter. i am more active on the discord and forums.
How well do you handle pressure, criticism, or heated situations?
i handle these situations well.
How are your social skills? Can you handle conflict respectfully?
helix's mom says they're pretty good. gmod is deeply unserious, and we're all here because we want to enjoy ourselves. there is just no reason to get upset over conflicts.
8. Are you familiar with the TTT server rules and general community standards?
i have never played "TTT" before in my life
9. What does your punishment history (if any) look like on our servers?
🫢
10. What is your reputation like within the community? Can you name any reputable players or staff who would vouch for you?
no probably not. i can't stand that helix guy. 👇👇👇

It's finally complete - the original K9 Unit is back. Welcome home, soldier.

Accepted.

titan — I’m voting no based on your recent conduct:
  • You publicly blew up at a staff member in the “Light Mode” thread, writing “The webmaster is harassing me!!!” and “FUCKYOUFUCKYOUFUCKYOU!!!”. That kind of outburst toward staff is the opposite of de-escalation and professionalism a moderator needs. Giant's Lair
  • You’ve posted flippant, low-effort replies in formal suggestion areas (e.g., “dawg what time” in a Round-End Music request), which doesn’t model the tone we expect from someone who would be triaging community input. Giant's Lair
  • In gameplay/meta discussion you lean into dismissive/snarky one-liners (“nobody wants to keep their pc rubbing for some fake points in a game”) rather than helping move policy conversations forward—again, not great for a role that hinges on calm, constructive mediation. Giant's Lair
  • You carry that same dismissive tone into staff applications (“well, can you?”), which undercuts the seriousness of the process you’d be helping to uphold. Giant's Lair

Given the above, I don’t see the restraint, composure, or communication style needed for moderation right now.
