I'm not a fan of Racist Imagery on Dolls.
The map creator's intentions in including this texture are irrelevant to this discussion. The facts of the matter are that it IS a political cartoon and it IS blackface. I'm not sure if you meant to imply otherwise in the quoted portion but this is textbook blackface. I'm not going to argue about whether or not blackface is the ACT of making one's face black or the act AND imagery of it because I think that is asinine. I also think we can both agree that there are bigger problems out there, which is why I find it strange that you have so much to say about this. If it's not a big deal, let's just change it and move on with our lives.

This was a shitpost and I know we play a game where we’re “terrorists” and we kill each other in goofy ways n what not. But sorry if it’s woke for me to say but I don’t like blackface in a map lol. I’d rather the texture be replaced with my proposed one (if possible I’m no expert). But come on guys, cut it out with the blackface

Like, obviously. But then transferring that badness to guilt-by-association for simply liking the map is a step too far.
Sorry, this is just one of those things where I have trouble expressing myself clearly. It doesn't particularly matter to me if this exists or not, I just don't want people to go and conflate issues, and I especially don't want people to think that using a decoration like this in map-making/worldbuilding automatically makes a person a racist.
This flippant attitude people have towards racism isn't healthy or appropriate. Either it's a big deal or it isn't- Treating racism as a joke will lead people to treat racism like a joke. You're ultimately still a bunch of (mostly) not-black guys laughing about blackface, you're just doing it in a way that you then ostracize people for not saying the right thing before joining the fun. It's either a problem or it's not, and I don't think this rises to the level of being a problem- And I really don't think anyone else here actually thinks it is a problem either, it's just an issue of principle. Otherwise the general reaction would be a lot different.

Like, it's really not a complicated issue- I'm just awkward. Overreactions are bad. Making too light of something that's supposed to be serious is also bad. And people are managing to do both at the same time here.
If this was such a sincere and serious issue, there wouldn't even be a discussion page about this; We'd already know the server is racist. This cannot be the first time this issue has come up in the community's history, and the mod team is largely recycled from our last iterations. But this map has been up for over a decade now, and people so ubiquitously understood that the decoration in question is just a decoration of its time that the overwhelming majority of us have never given it a second thought- That there is a difference between racist iconography and racism. It's not that racism is ever acceptable, it's not that wanting racism gone is bad or weird, it's that we need to remember that a a lot of fucked up shit happened in our history- And trying to erase that is stupid. You can say it only ever belongs in a museum, but most people don't go to museums.
This is literally racist iconography shoved in the back of the closet- It is the best place for it. So if someone is being a shithead about it, ban them. If someone has questions about it, explain it to them. This is our fucked up history. Don't hide it. Don't be afraid of it. Don't use it as an excuse to bully other people, and don't use it as a way to make light of actually serious topics.
