Previous staffing experienceUhhhh i've owned a Discord server since 2018 with a few hundred people with my own mod network.
Why should you be considered for a moderator position?Do you meet the minimum requirements listed above? Yes, I do. I have over 15 hours of gameplay the past two weeks and a total of 19 days worth of gameplay overall. I am 24 years of age.
What is your goal in joining the staff team? My goal would be to contribute to the ongoing efforts to safeguard and protect the integrity of Giant's Lair with fairness and equity in mind.
What skills or knowledge do you bring to the table? I would say that I bring various skills which include a keen eye, readiness to handle any problem, regardless if I am in the middle of, let's say, a T-round, and proper people skills in order to bring about an absolute resolution in any given problem. I would go as far as to say I have the uncanny eye for new people who join in the server in which I am able to deduce whether they will be breaking some sort of rule later down the line. I guess you could say it's a sort of sixth sense when it comes to knowing when someone is going to say a slur later in the game.
How committed can you be — short-term and long-term? Long-term, I can be committed for various months. The same can be said short-term.
Can you handle serious situations maturely and calmly?
I can definitely handle situations shortly. Despite my joking manner and often nonchalant ways of dealing with things as a standard player, I am more than capable of handling a situation considered serious with utmost maturity and respect towards all parties involved, and of course, in a lax manner.
How are your social skills? Can you handle conflict respectfully? Absolutely.
How well do you handle pressure or discouraging moments? I would say that pressure often rolls off of me like the gentle Pacific droplets off a whale's back. I am someone who can handle pressure perfectly, regardless of what may be said or done to me in game or even on the official discord server.
Are you familiar with all relevant game/community rules? I am most familiar with all relevant game and community roles as a result of playing on this server for a few months. I owe a lot of that knowledge to both the MOTD and the mods/admins who have helped me along the way.
How much time can you realistically dedicate to staffing? I could not say for certain on the daily part of a schedule, but I can definitely include between 10-15 hours a week on average.
What does your punishment history look like? If you have one, how have you changed? I have 21 slays and 1 mass rdm ban, with all kicks being afk kicks. For the mass RDM slay, I believe I had too many belts of scotch that one night and requested I be banned after having RDM'd 2 people in a row. You can check with Noctorious for that one. As for the slays, I am assuming most are for accidental RDM. Regardless, I would say that I am someone who values the server and takes careful consideration of my actions on it. Thus, I would never do anything to damage the server overall.
How is your reputation within the community? Are there reputable members who would recommend you? I would say my reputation is spotless in the community with various friends being made over the months in the server. I would say quite a number of moderators and admins would give me a glowing recommendation for the role as mod. In fact, some of them ask quite frequently to apply.
