Previous Staffing Experience

I have the following experience when it comes to administration of social communities:

*Was President of my middle school's chess club during my 8th Grade year (club presidents had to be in 8th grade at my middle school)

*Served as a student coach for the kicking unit of my high school's varsity football team. (11th grade year)

*Served as a Teacher's Assistant for my middle school (8th Grade year) and high school (12th grade year). Assisted Teachers in grading of texts/exams, as well as errands such as delivering messages to other staff, delivering referrals to the office, and retrieval of supplies from areas outside the classroom.

*Served as an English Talk Channel Operator (Language-specific channel mod) on the official Teamspeak Community server for more than a decade.

*Served as the Sargent-at-Arms for my college's student government for 1 academic year (fall to summer) Made sure the meetings were conducted in an orderly manner, and prevented derailing of meetings by attendants.


B. I have the following experience when it comes to administration of gaming communities:

*TeamSpeak and Game Server Admin for the Mad Zark Killers Gaming Clan (Unreal Tournament 99, defunct) - Dealt with keeping the Gaming and TeamSpeak servers fun and friendly to play on, while also actively punishing any rule violations. I did not deal with any work that would be the department of what GL would call a Developer. Left due to the dissolution of the clan.

*Guest Administrator for the Graffix' Gaming community (7 months service)- Served as a administrative role that mostly dealt with settling arguement/conflict between the standing Graffix' Gaming staff by applying the precedent of the rules to the argument at hand (basically a 3rd party mediator). Left because the community split apart due to an irreconcilable rift between the Lead Administration team.

*TTT Helper for the Skyz gaming community (8 months service) - Entry level staff position, handles mutes, gags, kicks, and could only ban for up to 24 hours. Was removed by a Super Admin who was later removed for favoritism/misconduct.

*TTT Tmod for both the Ignition Gaming and Tartz TTT/Cafe Tartz gaming communities (2.5 months combined service) - Same as Skyz but I could ban for only 12 hours on Ignition, and 72 hours on Tartz. Left because both communities failed in their infancies.

*TTT TMod/Mod for the Serious Gmod Gaming community (5 months service) - Same as Skyz, but could ban for up to 4 weeks. Removed from my position for direct misconduct by my then admin @RyanHighman .

*General Mod for the After Hours Gaming community (2 weeks service) - Mostly promoted as a joke in my honest opinion. Left due to the dissolution of AHG.

*TTT Mod/Admin for Giant's Lair (2 months service) - Was demoted to Mod after an incident involving my application of rules against @Pierogi , transferred to another admin, then demoted again after another incident regarding @helix and general "uptightness" with rules.​

How do you intend to make the server welcoming and bring new players in?

I will try to the best of my ability to help people with any questions that they have, while also keeping the server welcoming with my own brand of humour and hospitality (However weird it may be)

I'm not going to lie, MineCraft is quite a bit more nuanced due to the massive amount of game mechanics it has. I'm going to have to learn how to help in these niche situations as I go.

I will try my damndest to learn from my past mistakes to strive to be a better staff member in the future.

I will also word of mouth/type advertise the GL MC server whenever it is appropriate.​

Hey Lightning,

I have a few questions here:

1. You mentioned that you were promoted on AHG as a joke. Can you clarify more on this, because my recollection on this is that this isn't true. I know that there were some conflicts there, but my understanding is that the promotion there still initiated from someone giving you a chance, and this seems to be an insult to that- so I was wondering if you could reflect on this more, especially since you're asking for an admin to give you a chance here as well.

2. Can you reflect on your staffing experience here? You mentioned it, and you mentioned your demotion, but I don't see any reflection on it. You also mention it was regarding an incident with me-- which honestly isn't my recollection of it at all as well. So can you expand further on this, and how it won't be an issue again?

3. The community at large has had a focus on leniency compared to previous interations and a focus on just making sure everyone has a good time. In other words - we want to make sure staff arn't being hard asses and are using the rules as guidelines rather than black and white interpretations. You struggle with this. What are your reflections here as well?

4. You mention your reasons for wanting to be staff here - not a single one of those are things that you can not do as a regular member. Do you mind expanding on why you want to be staff, and how this helps accomplish the goal that you're stating here?

I can not imagine a worse user, both in character and performance, to be given any amounts of power in a community, no matter the game or role. From your interactions with other users and how easily people can get under your skin, from your previous abuses of powers in other communities when faced with criticism, and from the choices of games that you play. Not to mention, when pressed about the type of games that you play, and how some of those games depict children/students in high school, your response is that it is okay so long as you pretend you're a child too. I already don't feel comfortable with you in this community outright, but having you be staff of a game geared towards minors is an absolute no.
