I would like to preface that at the time of posting this, I have not hit the 20 hour time requirement. I spent a lot of time writing and revising this while bored at work, and am posting this ahead of time. I currently sit at 14 hours and will most definitely hit the 20 hours by Friday (two days after posting this, and probably by the time some people even see this), maybe even on Thursday! In question one where it gives people the option to explain which requirements they don't meet, I figured I'd shoot my shot and apply based upon experience! If this is not acceptable, I understand.

1. Do you meet all the minimum requirements listed in the Requirements Thread?
If not, please explain which requirement(s) you don’t meet and why.
The only one I don't meet at this moment is the time requirement but I will be at 14 hours by the end of my night tonight and will finish up the remaining time tomorrow.
2. Why do you want to join the Giants Lair staff team?
I love Garry's Mod...TTT specifically, and I love serving people. The best way to do that providing a good experience for players through moderation and administration. I love more of the back-end work that goes into a community than playing on the actual servers themselves. I love playing on the server, and upon having some conversations with staff members, feel like I would be a good fit and would love to contribute further than just playing.
I reinstalled Garry's Mod a week ago with no expectations that I would find anything. When I found Giant's Lair, I was pleasantly shocked with what I found and how great and tight this community is. I was expecting no reaction when I posted my engagement photo but when like 15 people congratulated me barely knowing who I was, that was the moment I realized I wanted to be part of this community. Playing on the server and genuinely hearing people have fun playing a game I have loved for so long, brings back great memories that I never expected to have again based upon how Garry's Mod has seemingly died over the years.
I have experienced one or two times so far where there have been no staff actively moderating the server. This typically doesn't last long but chaos can erupt when this happens, especially when there's 20+ people online.
3. What skills or experiences do you bring to the team?
(e.g., past staffing, conflict resolution, technical knowledge, etc.)
In my 13 years of playing Garry's Mod, I spent a total of 7 of those years running my own communitys: FastPacedGaming from 2015-2016, and AlmostVanillaGaming from 2017-2021. At it's peak, AVG had 8 servers across 5 games and had a vision of a gaming community similar to the visions of what this could be. I served on AVG's Council as its Owner, while my individual server managers worked for each server.
I have also been a part of staff teams for various (now dead) communities, such as 420Servers, Moat.gg (before all the bad drama), and WorldOfGods.
As for conflict resolution, I deal with both of those things every day in my real life job. I am a Branch Manager for a bank, which is entirely dealing with issues in a calm and professional manner. I also work at my local church and community center as an administrator helping with building the community within the church, which I feel is very similar to a gaming community like this one!
Technical knowledge I think comes in to play as someone who has formerly run a community myself. I understand the vision of what is trying to be built here and would love to actively and positively contribute as much as possible. There seems to be a real structure here which makes me more comfortable with sinking my time here!
4. How active are you across our platforms (GMod, Discord, Forums)?
Provide a breakdown if possible.
I try to be as active as I possibly can be. I am working on getting more active in the Discord and Forums, but I chime in when I feel like I can add something necessary. I definitely want to get more of a feel outside of the game server what this community is all about. The people in this community seem very fun and I would love to make some more internet friends to play games with!
I have been plugged into the Discord since day one. I made my Forum account the day after joining and keep an eye on it daily.
5. How much time can you realistically dedicate to staffing per week?
Depending on the week, between 15-25 hours per week. That could potentially fluctuate with my two jobs, but I think that's a reasonable number. Between my church and now being engaged, I do tend to be busy but I have designated nights where I am home for me time (video games!)
6. How well do you handle pressure, criticism, or heated situations?
I feel like I handle pressure relatively well. It is always better to take your time to work through a situation rather than speeding up to find the quickest solution. Sometimes that additional time can lead to better answers to a problem. Working in a bank for 6 years, I have learned how to deescalate situations quite well. In the end, no one really WANTS to be in a heated situation, some people just get more passionate than others in their wants and beliefs.
I feel like I can handle criticism well, especially when said criticism about myself is from someone with the point of giving me advice to improve in what I am doing. I would say that I have a lot of humility and have no issue with listening to others who only want me to improve! Criticism attacking someone's character, however, should never happen in my opinion
7. How would you describe your conflict resolution style?
I firmly believe in hearing everyone out in a situation (Obviously within reason, someone who Mass RDMs doesn't really get a say), and trying to understand everyone's point of view before making an informed decision. In a conflict where both sides have good points, a win-win solution should be found so both fair sides can come to a fair resolution. In most situations, everyone should have a right to say their piece, regardless of role or reputation.
8. Are you familiar with the TTT server rules and general community standards?
I am very much familiar with the TTT server rules, as most of them are pretty standard with what you come to expect from a good TTT server. The community standards are also pretty self-explanatory, being a part of many communities over the last 13 years.
9. What does your punishment history (if any) look like on our servers?
Be honest — transparency is appreciated.
I don't believe I have ever even been slayed before.
10. What is your reputation like within the community?
Can you name any reputable players or staff who would vouch for you?
I would say my reputation is fair. Just a dude playing video games for fun. I've had some good interactions with people so far I think!
