Why should you be considered for a moderator position?
1. Do you meet all the minimum requirements listed in the Requirements Thread?
Yes, I have 20 hours past 2 weeks on the server, and I imagine that number will increase in the near future.


2. Why do you want to join the Giants Lair staff team?
I had hesitations on applying because I have no staff experience, and up until recently, I did not have the time to learn how to staff properly. That being said, I have gained a lot of free time recently and would like to give it a try.

3. What skills or experiences do you bring to the team?
(e.g., past staffing, conflict resolution, technical knowledge, etc.)
I would like to think I am pretty level-headed in most situations, and I believe I have a good grasp of the rules.

4. How active are you across our platforms (GMod, Discord, Forums)?
Provide a breakdown if possible.
I am definitely most active in GMod. I would say I am not very active on the forums or Discord. I would like to be more active on both of these platforms and plan on doing so.

5. How much time can you realistically dedicate to staffing per week?
I will realistically be able to dedicate a minimum of 10 hours per week.

6. How well do you handle pressure, criticism, or heated situations?
I think I handle pressure well. I would also say I take criticism very well.

7. How would you describe your conflict resolution style?
I would say desceleration is best. I haven't gotten into any conflicts that I can remember. I will almost never escalate a situation.

8. Are you familiar with the TTT server rules and general community standards?
I am familiar with the server rules and general community standards.

9. What does your punishment history (if any) look like on our servers?
Be honest — transparency is appreciated.
I have 0 kicks or bans on the server. I have gotten slain a couple of times, but I have never intentionally RDM'd anyone (that one time I RDM'd kevin does not count)

10. What is your reputation like within the community?
I think Siddo and Bird would vouch for me. I would also like to think pigeon would vouch for me, but considering my sig, I am not so sure. I do think other members would vouch for me, but I don't feel comfortable saying someone would vouch for me if I am not 100% certain. I can say I don't think anyone has issues with me that I am aware of.

As mentioned above, I have a lot of hours on GMod but almost zero staff experience. I am very eager to learn. All feedback and criticism is welcome and would be appreciated :D​
 
Hello steve, I've been waiting for you to apply. I think you'd be a good fit for the staff team, you know the rules, you aren't toxic and you don't cause any problems every time we play together. I hope to see you get picked up and given a chance to show what you can do. You have my +1

Joking aside you have caused zero issues for me, are active, and engage with the community. All the important boxes are checked, you'll do just fine!

You've been a joy through and through both in DMs, in chat, and in game. No notes. I'm sure you'd be an absolutely wonderful addition to our team.
Your inexperience is not a demerit, so don't worry about that - we'll make sure you're ready to stand on your own two feet before you have to manage a server alone.

steve has consistently been one of my favorite players to see on the server. He is able to joke with people in a very funny and non-toxic manner that I think will translate to becoming an engaging staff member. He has a great understanding of the rules while also possessing a good sense of when it might be a good idea to let something go for the sake of fun. I think steve will easily be able to get up to speed on staffing.

While your reputation inside the community certainly sparkles, what about your reputation outside the community?

A player recently came to me with a clip of concerning behavior occurring outside of our community, instigated by a project primarily featuring you. While your intentions may of been to “put on a funny show” and “make children embrace their inner creativity”, the wild outburst of lawbreaking/local ordinance breaking behavior sparked does need an explanation. While this is the only clip I have right now, I’ve heard from good authority a quick google search will lead me to more.

Here’s the clip where you smile knowing what their reaction will be

I was coerced into planning this event against my will. Many things happened beyond the scope of the public eye that forced my hand. That being said, I have already taken accountability for this video and have been punished extensively by the proper authorities. This stain on my life is one I quickly wish to put behind me, and while the general public may not have all the facts, that isn't an excuse for my actions. I am truly saddened by my lapse of judgment, as I know only time will be able to heal the damage I have caused.
 
Steve, while I appreciate you applying and think that your server presence would be a great fit for the staff team, I hate you and I want to rdm you and abuse my staff powers against you. Denied. You may reapply tomorrow so I can give you this response again.

Now that I've gotten that promise out of the way, time for actual feedback:

This app has been a long time coming, and it's sooner than I expected, but a welcome surprise. I have full confidence that you'll be a very competent staff member. You're someone that I've been able to rely on with some regularity for help with things like gathering evidence and testing bugs. I know your understanding of the rules is good, because we've had some good discussions on the validity of certain reports, and you're always very cordial about it. Barring a few intentional RDMs here and there, I don't have any concerns to raise here about the way you carry yourself in game. The area I would like to see more from you in is just your engagement in discord. I know you mentioned it already in your app and you have been much more involved lately so this isn't something I'm actually concerned about right now, just something to mention I will be looking for. As Siddo mentioned, your lack of staff experience is not a knock against you. We'll take time and care to get you comfortable with the technical aspects of all of this.
 
Did not see this one coming. It is definitely a pleasant surprise though seeing you becoming interested in staff! Honestly, steve is a joy to have on the server as he knows the rules well, pretty funny guy who vibes with the community, and has been playing on the server for a while. Never had a problem with him. I will give you my +1 as well! Hoping an admin picks you up soon.
 
Yooooo its my man sbeve! I was wondering when this application would finally make its way across our forums and I am glad it has finally arrived. I have no notes honestly. You are always a gem to play with, and are especially a vital presence during low pop where you are very easily able to continue to keep the vibes up so people are less inclined to leave. You know the rules and while you have no staffing experience, I have no doubt that you will pick it up quickly enough. You already have the social side of it down quite well, you don't escalate situations and you get along with new and old players which is a massive plus. We all started somewhere with no staffing experience so don't think that portion will hold you back.

You have the right mindset and personailty for the job and a desire to learn. That is all you need!!!
