Pending Suggestion - Reduced microphone timer

I cant tell if the microphone timer is even working for people anymore but as is people are nonstop talking on topics that have nothing to do with the game, shouting shitposts, yelling nonsense, or other things making it excessively hard to hear suppressed weapons, c4, koses, callouts, and other discussions

I got a recording from the past hour i played and for at least half of it you got one dude talking, shouting, or ranting for almost 3 straight map rotations

Honestly, some of the longer random conversations in voice chat can be quite funny.
Sometimes it does get very excessive, but otherwise it's a nice bit of community spirit.

Personally I’m for removing the mic battery. I think it should be the job of the staff members online to help mediate the people who are constantly talking.

Maybe remove the mic battery only when staff are on, and have it come back without staff on

Also I think i’ve seen that some people have a “member” ulx usergroup? We could consider giving that group unlimited/extended mic battery and giving that out more freely to people who are chill so it’s more restrictive against brand new players and less against regulars. Oh also give all donor ranks unlimited battery ofc

donor ranks already have practically unlimited battery lol, unless you're leaving the mic on for like 5 mins you wont run out (with that youll prolly be gagged) but more intent to join the forums for more mic battery does seem interesting

I’m a fan of removing the mic battery. If the change is made, it might be an interesting staff command to “reenable” mic batteries for a few minutes for the rare instances where voice chat truly does get too rowdy.

I dont remember the server, but they had it with like 20+ people mic batteries are enabled so maybe this could work

I think battery should be either removed or extended, not reduced so that's gonna be a -1 from me
