Hello GL,
This is my official resignation post. As many staff already know I am stepping down from Lead Admin (whenever @Agennon wakes up and does it). There are many things I love about being a lead but many things that are hard. I was offered lead a couple years before the server opened, after only being a moderator for a total of about a year between 3 tenures before. As terrifying as leadership was I accepted with the only condition that as a father going to online school and working full time that I would not have an hour requirement. Agennon did well to honor my request and has never bugged me about activity.
Overall to the question of why I'm stepping down it boils down to stress. Stress from real life that's bleeding into staffing, and stress from staffing that's bleeding into real life. Theoretically I could drop for a week or two and try to relax, but that wouldn't stop me from waking up in the middle of the night to look through the staff chats on discord or worry that I'm missing an important pm from one of my staff. I care a lot about this community, and in no way plan to stop being present in general and contributing by being around and attending the events I can.
I hope my time as lead had at least some good impacts, as many people have had great impacts on me. I've talked to and made friends with way more people in a short time than I ever did in my years at STTT/SGM and I worked hard to try to give us all a space we can enjoy. Things aren't perfect, they never will be, but I hope we can find the imperfections in the community and in each other unique and beautiful. And I hope we can all learn to not sweat the small stuff.
