Pending TTT Rule Change

Currently the rules state that you have to warn if you place a C4 in an area which innos could defuse it instantly

The C4s appear on the Map to other Traitors as a way to stay away from them and know their countdowns and act as a notice to the other traitors
I do not see the need to warn for ALL C4 placements and think our rules work as well

Doesn't it already say in chat when your T-buddy places a C4 automatically? I'm almost certain it does. If not, I'd be okay with adding this. Even though I don't think we need it.

EDIT: I just checked some clips. It doesn't look like it does actually. While I don't think it's necessary at all, we do have in chat auto warnings for Death stations, and for when someone buys a jihad. I actually don't think it'd be a terrible idea to have one for when a C4 is armed as well.

in regards to c4
I warn my t buddies about my c4s and they still die to them. However a notification/warning that a c4 is in play would be great since certain maps are ...... veeery c4 friendly.

as for the present launcher... if there is a plan to keep it.. I think it should be added to the existing warn system (too many times I wanted to use it but got blocked by a stupid t buddy who decides to join a crowd)

i think i just disagree. sometimes ur doing ur thing and dont notice the timer. or it could be above or below you and your only looking at whats around you, putting it in chat forces you to know its there

Edit: theres another post about making an auto notification like how the jihad warns other t's. thatd be perfect.

So since last i checked the rule regarding C4 is you only need to warn if you plant them in a place with a high likelihood of being activated right away.
- I THOUGHT you also had to warn if you placed them in areas that get high traffic but looking at the rules again, I don't see that anywhere.

The visual indicator for C4 in the game is, like with death stations and tripwires, fairly easy to see, but even then, I've missed a few and died to friendly C4 myself
But in all honesty, If I see someone repeatedly walk into friendly C4 and die more than just a couple times, I would be left thinking they either are doing it on purpose (either to be funny, game throwing, or to try to bait reports and get people slain), or just need to pay more attention to the game.

MAYBE they can edit the indicator to make it even more visible, like reducing the opacity to it some, or making it brighter, but I really don't think we need another t weapon that's gonna make people stop and stand still for a few seconds to warn their teammates before doing it. ESPECIALLY not the C4 which already takes you standing completely still for a few seconds to use.

You don't always get more than just a few seconds to plant a C4 cleanly without being caught and making people have to warn on top of that is just gonna make the weapon harder to use.

If people have to warn for any C4 it should only be for high traffic areas, if there's a ton being planted, or for if you are planting on that has a high chance of being disarmed within 10 seconds. ESPECIALLY a 10 minute C4.

What is the difference between high-traffic and high likelihood of being activated right away?

I think there reaches a certain point of paying attention in TTT. Requiring your T-buddies to warn that they placed a C4 when a C4 will be drawn on your hud when looking (and even anchor itself to the edges of your screen for a defined amount of distance) with the countdown timer is more than enough IMO. If you don't see it, that's on you, not your buddy when the lowest timer gives ample time to run away if paying attention.

Hidden well but in an area you gotta walk through. Like in the T room but on the other side of a wall everyone has to go by

Somewhere where itll never get disarmed by an inno but you GOTTA walk by it or cant quickly get away from it type of thing.

Just look at the HUD and stand > 800 units away, and you won't die. Granted, there are some maps where if everyone is spamming them, it can be hard to avoid, but you should then see countless icons on your screen.
