Hey everyone! We have some extra changes planned as a fun little surprise for you all. Read on to see what we've been hard at work on lately.

Starting off strong, we're very excited to announce the launch of our new Australian server, hosted in Melbourne Australia! As the current flagship of Giant's Lair, TTT is a project we want to make sure we present as far and wide as possible. Believe it or not, there's an entirely untapped market of kangaroos and giant spiders that don't have a good server to play TTT on with less than 400 ping. We're truly excited to see all the new faces joining the community.
But pigeon, who's going to staff the Australian server?
Great question. Unfortunately, it's going to be pretty difficult to keep a server like that staffed considering that our staff team is mostly located in US or EU timezones. Hopefully once we get some more Australian players we'll be able to ease up on hour requirements, but for now we're mandating a strict 20 hour per week requirement for Australian staff members specifically. Absolutely no excuses.
On the subject of the staff team, we have one very heavily requested change available now for all staff members. Once you've been on the staff team for at least 100 days, you will have the option to prestige your staff rank. Doing so resets you back to trial moderator, but you'll get some extra bonuses to make it worthwhile. Each time you prestige, you'll get extra characters next to your name to make it seem more important. You'll also have the maximum ban length you can issue be extended by 10% and you'll unlock special cosmetics like taunts that play on the ban screen for players you ban and an increasingly large "banhammer" crowbar reskin for TTT or "fun police" cape for minecraft. There's more to discover too, but I won't spoil it all just yet.
Now for a minor rule change. As cheats get better and better over time, it's getting pretty difficult for us to keep up. We've decided that it just isn't really worth our time to investigate potential cheaters anymore, and if everyone is cheating then it's kinda like nobody is cheating anyway. All forms of cheating are now allowed on TTT.
Don't think we've been neglecting you, minecraft enjoyers. We've heard you loud and clear on trading cards and have a hotly requested change to present: We are removing the existing trading card plugin.
We'll be replacing it with a brand new trading card plugin that features over 300 more trading cards than the existing plugin. Additionally, instead of just being limited to shiny and non-shiny variants of each card, you can now also collect alternate art, full art, serialized, and embossed variants of each card. None of these cards stack with one another, but I think we can all agree that it's a tradeoff worth paying for when you see just how sick these cards are. We are going to need to wipe the server again and take it down for another two weeks to push this change.
Just a couple more announcements now. On the discord side of things, we're adding a few more channels for topics we know everyone is interested in. There's too many for me to list them all off here, but keep your eyes peeled over the next few days as we start to add in a couple dozen new channels. Rest assured though, we know that things can get disorganized pretty quickly when we add new channels. To that end, around 30 of these new channels will actually be discord forums, which should really help keep things sleek and modern.
Unfortunately though it isn't all good news. Keeping in mind discord's policies on violent content, we are postponing any and all future forum mafia/murder party events. Sorry guys.
On the forums side, we've been thinking about how we can modernize our forums to keep up with discord and the big names in social media. It's pretty clear that all roads lead to the same place. That's right: short form content.
Introducing Giant's Lair Shorts: a new way to create and discover short, entertaining videos on Giant's Lair. Shorts invites you to create fun videos to share with your friends or anyone on Giant's Lair. Record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and new creative tools. You can share shorts with your followers on Feed and make them available to the wider Giant's Lair community through a new space in Explore. Shorts in Explore offers anyone the chance to become a creator on Giant's Lair and reach new audiences on a global stage. Feel free to post subway surfers to your heart's content.
