So the last thread was killed in the wipe and I just haven't gotten around to reviving it until now.
Anyways... so everyone has a username, that's how the internet works unless you're on 4chan or shit. Most of the time, that username has a reason for existing, no matter how small and/or trivial. I had a bunch throughout my time on the internet, but I'll stick to the two I had in this community, going back to AHG.
I joined as TheLonelyHat, which was a decently old username. At the time I made it I really didn't have anybody I could consider a real friend. Sure, I did have a fair bit of friends, but I kinda just felt lonely regardless. Fast forward later, my best friend of 12 years turned out to have turned fake at some point, and I found my true friend group. People that were there for me when I was down after I was there when they were down, and I realized that TheLonelyHat didn't really fit me anymore. Around that time I started listening to the Foo Fighters, especially Everlong, and decided to make that my new username. Obviously that name stuck to this day, it's been over three years since I switched to it!
So, what are your username origins? Do they involve an old clan, an old game, some obscure joke only you will get, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Go ahead, share the stories!
