Recently a rule change was made to treat grappling in to the T-rooms as an exploit. I suggest allowing this instead.

Thoughts: It created an interesting mechanic that makes t-rooms slightly more riskier as a T. In addition, for this to be possible, a detective also needs to spend a credit on a grapple hook.

It’s a change, sure, but T’s have already adapted by putting trip-wires near the entrance, etc. that has made gameplay interesting.

I think this is a change that warrants community discussion beyond the staff team alone, hence the thread.

Cheers!

I think limiting the amount of times a player can purchase Detective in a given map (to 1 per map) would solve this issue.

I don't necessarily think it's the act of Detectives going into the T room that is upsetting people, I think it's more the fact that players (I am at fault and have done this too, after confirming it wasn't against the rules or even considered Toxic Gameplay) who never buy Detective will buy it for all 6 rounds of Innomotel just to do this every round.

However, if they could only buy it for 1 round (and maybe get it a second round by chance), I think that would limit this issue immensely.

Yeah, I think limiting it somehow would be chill. I was surprised to hear it being treated as exploiting. I thought it should be solved with some type of coding fix- making the vents one way or something, but I would honestly still like to see it allowed. It’s a really interesting gameplay change.

Maybe even giving the gun a limited number of shots?

Not sure when the next community approval poll is scheduled for content (little too late to tack onto the one literally happening right now) but including some questions about this mechanic and if its something the community would want, limiting detective buys, and other adjacent fun grappling hook/movement queries . It's definitely decisive thing people are opinionated about, and the option to let them feel heard would be awesome
