Pending Frosty's TTT Staff Application

In my experience with you, you generally do a good job of engaging in heavier conversations in a way that stays within the rules of the server. I do remember one time where I felt the need to gag you and the person speaking to tell you both to change the subject because we were all sick of listening to that conversation, but you took it very well, laughed about it, and moved on to another topic. This was also not an instance where you broke any rules, I just asked you to move on because people were sick of the conversation.

I like that you're able to actively engage with the server and keep the energy up, and I appreciate that you make an effort to do so in a respectful way.

I think if you are going to take on a staff position, you may need to scale back your political conversations a little bit, or at least just be a bit more aware of the energy level and enjoyment of the rest of the server rather than just focusing on whether or not the topic is allowed within the rules. I'm not too worried about that for you though, I think you'd be able to quickly settle into a good balance.

The only thing I want to say to this - if you were arguing with someone who you felt was breaking the rules or being inappropriate in a way that was negatively affecting the server enviornment, the best thing to do is use @chat and let someone know, most of us are pretty quick on messages that pop up in there. Arguing with him about it, if you were to be a staff member, would not be the way to handle it. I don't know the extent to which you were arguing, but prolonged conversations disputing what they are saying if it's against the rules usually isn't productive, one or two sentences then a staff action of some sort if needed is usually what we do.

That being said, this does not sound like something especially bad, pending someone having more details on the manner, and I very much do like your presence on the server, and I wouldn't at all be against a trial phase for you. Just tone down the things we've asked of you, and there shouldn't be much of a problem.

From my perspective, that is not what happened. Any time the conversation would die down or start to go to something else, it felt like you were steering the conversation back to this, even as staff members asked in all chat for the conversation to stop. You continued to push these topics even after the problematic player left the server. It seems like you intentionally are trying to cause drama and cause people to become heated in chat, and this is a recurring issue. If you were to become staff, would you continue to try and instigate or would you try to focus on shutting these topics down?

I only mentioned him once after he left, and if i was instigating or steering the conversation in that direction , that was not my intention , and i do apologize for inadvertently steering the conversation back to his beliefs. I did send a message to @ chat while he was talking , and was told that they were waiting for him to implicate himself, thats around when i stopped speaking with him. if i became staff i would focus on shutting down these topics, one of the things that is frustrating to me about arguing with people like this , is that i simply do not have any tools or ability to shutdown things like hate speach. I do admit i was a little heated because of the things being said , and in hindsight , i should have just not spoken with him.
 
My main feedback has already been said by others which is that you'd gotta tone it down with the conversations which can devolve into chaos even if it wasn't intended.

That said, my question for you has to do with an instance a few weeks ago where I overrode your forgiveness on a report because it was a blatant round start RDM from someone who RDMs fairly often. Your reaction was to complain in voice for about a round about how it was dumb and that we were being buzzkills by doing it. I am a very lenient staff, but sometimes the hammer needs to be dropped in order to let people know what is unacceptable. So my question is do you understand why staff sometimes need to make the decision to override forgiveness?

Besides that, I do believe that being lighthearted and humorous can be a perk and I would like to see how you'd do as a mod

Absolutely, it was a weird situation because i had never actually had a a staff member override a forgiveness , and i had only known the guy that rdmed me for about an hour or two and had no idea of his previous history. Sometimes due to repeated breaking of rules a staff member needs to enforce the rules even if the victim forgave them , if not it could cause him or other people to rdm/ break the rules in the same way.
 
i think the only actual interaction ive had with you was you instantly talking shit after i said something and then talking shit to the next person not to say i love the casual shit talk

I was one of those mods on yesterday, I only heard small portions being alive while convos being in dead chat and nothing caught my attention was said during those portions until the end where he had left before action was taken. I had no idea what was going on and I'm sorry this happened, for further reference please use @chat to say something to bring it up to attention with all staff. If the staff is directly notified that someone is being a problem then they will get taken care of quickly.

For the Application, I am neutral. I see from your responses you are genuine, but the ban that steve implemented being this week for harassment and frequent talks on things that aren't against the rules but bordering it kinda make it hard to be supportive of this app. I'm sure with time you will be a good applicant, but for now I feel you need some time to adjust your ways of talking on certain topics.

I'm want to elaborate on my ban a few days ago. The ban reason was harassment because by the rules that's what i was technically doing. But, as far as i know the person i was " harassing " was not actually complaining or in any type of distress. The reason i was banned for 1 day was a relatively out of pocket joke that i made regarding someone on the server. I have full recollection of the conversation , and if anyone wants any more clarification on the ban , I'm happy to essentially give a transcript based off my memory. The joke was obviously very dumb, but i think it's important that people know i was not actually talking about/ with that person with negative intentions , nor did they take much offense to the comment.
 
All of my experiences with you have been nothing but fun. I love the vibes you bring to the server. You have come forward with the mistakes you've made and I do think that you are able to turn on and off the goofiness when needed. I will +1 this app at this time.
