As the title says.

So far these are the Minecraft maps if I'm correct:

If a map is listed as yellow, it is a duplicate. If it is green, it is remake but not a duplicate.

I believe that having double versions of these maps adds clutter to the server and seems a little repetitive. We have some amazing maps, I don't think anyone can argue with that- but playing Dolls, going to hotline Miami, then back to MC Dolls only adds to burnout and less player rentention imo. Those situations are funny, esepically when people are adubily disgrunttled by the fact in voice chat, but their feelings are honestly valid.

Secondly, I also believe that maps such as office that are highlighted green, would benefit from being original source, TTT maps. I feel like with how the server presents itself, it lands well as a non-inventory slop, or pure vanilla TTT server. I do think there is a specefic player that seeks out this kind of vibe, but may also generally steer away from Minecraft only servers. If we keep Minecraft maps as originals and as the minority, I believe that maintains their novelty while also balancing out everything else mentioned.

Bonus: Unless it is a rotating map pool like mentioned with Minecraft city, where you only have one version of that map active at a time- we don't need duplicates in general. Let's just choose one version of richland lol. Right now we have three of them.

I absolutely concur with removing duplicate maps; particularly favorites that get voted often like dolls and innomotel. There have been more than a couple close calls where we have almost gone from ttt_dolls to mc_dolls and the same for innomotel. Given how both are generally inferior versions of the non-mc versions I don't think they should be in rotation. If we have a hybridized version of the rotation akin to what wink suggested (https://giantslair.com/threads/ttt-maps-purge-megathread.1707/post-11713) we could consider rotating them in and out. I'm a bit less bothered by bank & richland as they are voted less but if we are getting rid of the duplicates we might as well do it with all of them.

I am also in complete agreement with your statement about the green highlighted maps as well. I personally think that it is a travesty that we do not have cs_office but we have mc_office; I feel similarly but to a lesser degree about nuketown.

With all that being said want to advocate for some additions to fill the removals of the respective mc variants: OG richland (if the issues can be sorted out) & the optimal version of innomotel which was accepted (https://giantslair.com/threads/better-innomotel.184/). Both of these in place of the mc versions would be a welcome change.

Overall I'm in support of this as I think that you hit the nail on the head about preserving the novelty of mc maps by keeping them as a minority. I'm personally not a fan of mc maps but I can't argue that the good ones bring in pop & help retain it.
 
+1 As much as I enjoy mc maps, they do get repetitive. One instance on the server we played regular dolls and we ended up on mc dolls. Most players seem to hate on mc maps however there will still be a demographic group who still enjoys them.

I am in favor of removing the duplicate maps that Panda has suggested for now and keep the ones that weren’t highlighted.
Once the eventual 24/7 Minecraft vanilla server drops, that server can serve as a place that caters to that demographic that enjoy mc maps more than the east and eu server. Also richland needs to go lol that map is error city and tanks my FPS whenever I play on it.
