I was thinking about ways to soft punish people who abuse the trusted mechanic to profit. How about being able to choose to brand someone as a "Traitor" along with a brief message explaining why when you remove them from your faction.

Then, when someone else is extending them an invite to their lands, have a warning message inform them of all of the lands that have branded them as a traitor, along with those messages. The messages themselves could be capped to the last 5 or so instances. Moreover, each member of the faction that branded the Traitor would be able to see the tag next to the person's name, reminding them that the Traitor is KOS.

It would be roleplay friendly, extremely appropriate given our origin as a TTT server, and could give rise to interesting events and situations.

Like, you could do an event where Traitors have their protection removed while in their Land, and their coordinates are marked. Every kill of a Traitor results in a small bounty. Meanwhile, the Traitors would get a similar reward for killing the Terrorists sent to deal with them.

Actually, on that note, why not introduce the ability for the faction who brands the Traitor to pay a fee to put a bounty on the person being branded? It would be moderately expensive, but could be used to provide a thematic and in-world way to recover your stolen goods.

If someone signs up as a bounty hunter, they would be paid a percentage of the fee paid by the Faction if they manage to get the kill. The faction in turn would retrieve either the stolen goods, or their worth in in-game currency.

This would allow for emergent gameplay situations, allow players to determine and seek out their own retribution, and ultimately provide consequences for betraying a faction that could well lead to being effectively banished from joining other factions.

I will look over this suggestion, reformat it, and try to get it more structured than a stream of consciousness later. Just too busy at the moment.
