Hey everyone, I am stepping down from my position as Admin & from the staff team overall here at GL.
I initially wanted to write a long drawn out message but I don't think there is anything new I could say. There are some great individuals who poured their hearts out on the public thread and articulated the problems they have. The people close to me in this community know how I feel & I have sufficiently expressed my distaste in the decisions made recently. I have expressed that privately and in staff chats. I cannot continue in good faith as a staff member when I fundamentally disagree with the philosophies being employed and decisions being made recently. The targeting of specific users & bans based on "vibes" is an utterly slippery slope and a decision that you cannot undo. The private & public outcry to this verdict before & after it was rendered should have been more than enough to realize this was a road we did not want to go down as a community. If enough people tell you you're drunk, maybe you need to sit down.
To those of you within the staff team who are shielding bad faith actors and kowtowing / capitulating to these people, you are shameful and directly contributed to this. You all know who you are. You are cowards, backstabbers, & liars. To the good ones on the staff team who tried to stop this, I commend your effort & time spent even if it was for naught.
I am thankful that I met some fantastic people here & have made some amazing friends. Not all of my experiences have been good but I would do it again if it meant I got to meet the people I did.
Take care of yourselves. I'll still be around just not in a staffing capacity.
