Previous staffing experienceI've only ever been moderator for a bunch of obscure now-defunct discord servers back when I was 13/14, and I took the role as seriously as you'd expect a teenager would at the time. With that being said, it goes without saying that my mentality has matured since then and if I were given a position of responsibility, I would give 120% effort in seeing it fulfilled.
Why should you be considered for a moderator position?- Do you meet all the minimum requirements listed in the Requirements Thread? If not, please explain which requirement(s) you don’t meet and why.
I meet all of the minimum requirements listen in the thread.
- Why do you want to join the Giants Lair staff team?
Ever since I first joined this community back in November of 2025, I have been accepted and engaged by the community in a way that I've never been in any other group of people. I usually join discord server purely for server events (especially in SCP Secret Lab) but this community is different, due to me actually engaging with everyone not by events but by the people within the community. Being surrounded by this many friendly faces makes me ask myself, "y'know what, why not give moderation a try? To help out with the community that I deeply care for?". In conclusion, I want to join the Giants Lair staff team to assist with moderating the community that I deeply care about and hold compassion for.
- What skills or experiences do you bring to the team? (e.g., past staffing, conflict resolution, technical knowledge, etc.)
I don't have that much experience staffing, this would basically be the only time in my 12 years of being chronically online where I would actually commit to being a staff seeing as I'm now mentally mature enough to not only understand what a moderator does but to make a proper distinction from right and wrong. What I lack in experience, I make up for in a strong moral compass and how I deal with conflicts.
I also understand the role of being in a team and cooperating with one another due to my involvement in the University of Miami Frost Band of the Hour. Being in the UM Marching Band has helped to shed light on proper leadership and how staff (whether it is a student leader, a TA, or even the band director themselves) is supposed to act outside of band, inside of band, and even whilst trying to resolve conflicts.
- How active are you across our platforms (GMod, Discord, Forums)? Provide a breakdown if possible.
I have been more and more active within GMod and Discord ever since I joined the community. I always hop on Town of Salem 2, I play TTT very often, and I'm even in two D&D campaigns ran by SiddoSnow and Husky respectively. Not to mention that I regularly join the voice channel with whoever is in the channel. Admittedly, I have been less active within January due to me traveling for college football games, but seeing as the football season will end soon (hopefully with the University of Miami winning the national championship) and the national championship being right in our home stadium (no traveling required), I will be much more active following my trip to Arizona (5th-9th).
- How much time can you realistically dedicate to staffing per week?
I can dedicated a decent couple of hours to staffing every week, and possibly more if my schedule allows me to do so.
- How well do you handle pressure, criticism, or heated situations?
I'd say that I work best under pressure. One skill that I've inherited from both marching band and my job is being able to easily comprehend situations whilst under pressure. If a situation becomes too heated and I need a moment to properly assess the issue, I would tell everyone kindly to give me a second and examine the problem or (if the situation is drastically huge in terms of seriousness) discuss it with other staff members, preferably a staff member with a higher rank.
- How would you describe your conflict resolution style?
I would best describe my conflict resolution style as "straight to the point". If someone is using slurs, saying bigoted remarks or blatant hate speech? Instant kick. If someone is being annoyingly political to the point where it bothers other? I'd give them two warnings before issuing any gag or kick. If someones action prevents others from having fun, it is my job to step in and set it right so that we can all enjoy ourselves together.
- Are you familiar with the TTT server rules and general community standards?
Absolutely, I've only started playing TTT on November but since then, I've gained a general understanding of the rules set forth.
- What does your punishment history (if any) look like on our servers?
The worst I've done is blatant RDM to which I've been properly punished by being slain for a round. I haven't ever been gagged, kicked, or banned.
- What is your reputation like within the community? Can you name any reputable players or staff who would vouch for you?
I'd like to believe I'm well respected within the community, I'm a good time to be around and I do follow the rules often. Many reputable figures in the community can vouch for me on that statement, like Husky, Sunny, Steve and Shadoll.
