Just a fun way to earn points other than the lottery system

Theres a $10 thing on the gmodstore for it called pointshop betting system

Unfortunately it’ll be hard to prevent game throwing and now you’re able to get near unlimited points if you work with someone.

Espurr pitched an idea about point betting on real life sports games. I think that’s the only way to be able to introduce a legit betting system.

I mean, under the rules game throwing first offense is a 4 week ban, which honestly should be a good incentive to not do the game throwing, but as is, lottery seems like a hopeless idea when people drop in 100k+ and make it all but impossibly for anyone else to win, so just throwing ideas for alternatives

There are people in this community who will loophole the fuck out of this... You know who you are. Like if I communicated via a third party platform like Discord it would be impossible to know FOR SURE that I ghosted. Admins could use discretion and ban anyways, but I could just get a slay for RDM on suspicion if I were smart. I like the idea of betting on real life events though, that could be fun.

I think this is unfortunately always going to run into players being players and optimizing the shit out of it.
Including gamethrowing, metagaming, and other anti-fun behaviours.

I've tried to conjure some kind of way to make this suggestion work for me, without luck. The more I consider it - or other betting/gambling beyond the lottery - the less I like it. I keep thinking of things I'd dislike about them, e.g. having to tweak payouts to feel nice without devaluing points.
Maybe someone will make a betting suggestion that I love. But for this suggestion, it's a -1 for me.

Honestly, this is what i was thinking of when i made the suggestion, but it does fall victim to the same issues

Could find a way to make it anonymous on what teams people bet on, or hide bets until round end all together. If it’s only your team you can bet on, game throwing wouldn’t be a concern
