Accepted Binoculars

- Binocular Speed (5 Levels) - Decreases the time required to identify bodies with the binoculars. Each Level increases identification speed by 10%. (20)
This is planned, although I'll leave the suggestion open due to the part about retrieving DNA. I've never fully liked the idea, but I'd like to get more opinions five years later.
Bumping this, another powerful upgrade alternative to grabbing dna would be allowing the detective to move around while iding the body/requiring line of sight for only the initial startup.
Another fun idea might be giving the detective the ability to easily broadcast last words found on bodies in text chat with a button similiar to the "call detective" button.

You know what, wink actually cooked with that second idea. It's not that useful, but certainly unique.
As for making it strictly better, I am kind of afraid to say it, but Bad Cat's right. Really, only remote DNA collection actually makes them useful enough to consider over a Hex Shield, Riot Shield, HS, all the good shit (and my beloved Intervention).
