Pending Hold contest/giveaway for non-AI splash page

Heya,

Making this after some short discussion with a couple in VC. Today the splash page was changed to a new splash page that was suggested on the forums, and highly upvoted -- but is total AI slop. You can see duplication of the textures on the guns, the counter-terrorists (which I'll get to in a second) have 8 fingers, etc.

In addition, I was a bit confused by it because.. It doesn't really have anything to do with TTT. TTT is a game about terrorists that has a traitor among their midst. So it doesn't make a lot of sense to feature counter-terrorists as the main feature.

I think it would be great to take advantage of some of the great talent we have in our community and rather than resorting to AI generated artwork - hold a giveaway/contest to design a TTT appropriate splash page. Or hell- maybe even use Fludd's image that is currently being commissioned.

Curious to hear how others feel about this. I lean in support of commissioning an artist not only for this, but also profile pictures for our media accounts. I think we would combine these 2 and pay the same artist for both if we do so.
 
I like this idea a lot - not a big fan of the fact that we used AI with the talent that we have amongst our amazing members.

We can get a banger splash page and other UI elements (I know @veri has done some cool work with the death cards for Christmas also)

This is an idea I've had for people that have store ranks, however that will take time to work on and I want it to integrate into the Sentinel system. The background that is currently active was a suggestion made by DocFox/Change which was accepted early on but I just got around to doing. If this suggestion is accepted the background will be replaced depending on what is chosen.

I do find it interesting the original suggestion got 16 upvotes but right after it was added this suggestion popped up lol. I defintely like this suggestion of a custom-made background made by own of you all being the background.

what do you mean for people with store ranks? Im confused isnt the splash page we are talking about just the loading screen or something else

An idea I've had for awhile (and implemented on my own TTT server back in like 2018) was if you had a store rank, you could upload an image to appear in the carousel/rotating of background images. Images would be vetted by staff and either approved to go into the rotation or be denied. Images would last for 1 month before being removed from the carousel of images.
 
The loading screen background has been updated to Marg Simsim's background for the time being. The current map image and Giant's Lair logo have been relocated to not take up as much height and cover the background. Suggestion will stay open for commissioning another background.

Marg Simsim :( I Miss Him
 
I love the banner being used, its really fun. once Fludd's is done I think it should be his, then if we ever get the new banner commission maybe just have a cycle of all 3 of them
