How much time will you be able to dedicate to staffing?

10-20 Hopefully a week. Few incidents lately changed that..​

Previous Staffing Experience

Prior in TTT staffing. Prior experiences on single player MC and staffing other games. Just not currently. Was trial mod but due to reasons related to just me needing to, especially with my circumstances, more assistance while playing a fast pace game. Lets just say things didn't work out and I thought about it. Working as staff while dealing with round changes and gameplay isn't, at this moment - my best option.​

How do you intend to make the server welcoming and bring new players in?

I plan - as I hope many have noticed - when I play... especially minecraft... to be playing the game a while each time and offering help to new players.​

I'm the annoying person who loves saying hello's to our new players here and offering to help regardless of Discord/Game/etc... And yes. I'm not perfect. I found that fast pace games like TTT on top of learning moderator information on top of several health issues occurring MAY have contributed to some difficulties with TTT and other games moderator in general.​

There's no hiding that some issues which may have led to difficulties especially with that game occurred and will likely continue.​

That's why I decided on Minecraft. The people I've been playing with so far have been nice and I get to say my hello's and help as a general player. And yes the general player amount slacks times I play. But to be staff when there is limited Minecraft staff I feel would overall help and make it so I feel like im giving back more and helping the community. I am much better and handling this game and feel this would be a much better position for me as staff vs a game like TTT.​

Overall being a presence that welcomes new players yet enforces rules I feel like would engage players to stay and get engaged on the MC experience.​

That in the end, I hope would help grow the MC population.​

I have some thoughts here, but I noticed something that is missing from your application here that I wanted to ask first... what role are you applying for here? I'm asking because I assumed this was a moderation role at first- however, it seems like you're looking more for some type of engagement role that doesn't exist. I'm a little bit confused, because the reasons you mentioned wanting to be staff here are all things that you're already doing, and doesn't require a staff role to do

Sorry. I do the engagement thing by myself kinda when I interact and play. But I would love to help moderate the server and do the engagement with newer players my own acting.

The discussion of you getting becoming a moderator has been a long conversation that has popped up in admin chat quite a few times, even when you wanted to go to TTT. (I doubt anyone will say this) but we want the best for you and do not believe you will be able to properly perform the duties required. You have a history of getting overwhelmed, constantly going afk randomly and I understand your health reasons etc for these things happening, but again, I believe it would be for the best to not put you through any of that in the first place.

Another thing I have a main issue with is your communication with the community as a whole. You are a bright presence but have a tendency to go overboard. People feel awkward to say anything because they understand you have good intentions, but there was recently a situation where a member left the Discord and community due to you DMing them constantly about who knows what. You have a well known history of doing this and it is quite uncomfortable to everyone, to the point where I have you blocked on Discord currently because the DMing was a bit much. I understand this may come off as rude and mean etc... but I want to be fully honest with you because I know you want to do your best to help the community.

While I appreciate the effort you put into being active and welcoming, you do not understand or respect boundaries appropriately. Multiple people have been made uncomfortable by your behaviour, even when your intentions may have been positive. Staff members need to be able to recognize when they are overstepping socially and adjust accordingly, and I have not seen that happen consistently here.

I also do not think this application demonstrates readiness for a staff position. The application itself repeatedly acknowledges ongoing personal and health-related difficulties that have already impacted prior staffing experiences. If those issues were significant enough to prevent success in previous moderation roles, I do not think putting you into another staff role is the right decision right now.

Additionally, part of this application seems centred around wanting an “engagement” style role focused on greeting and interacting with players, which is not really what the Minecraft staff team exists for. Staff are expected to moderate, enforce rules, handle reports/issues appropriately, and maintain professionalism.

Being friendly and active alone is not enough to justify a staff position.

Overall, I do not think you are currently a good fit for the responsibilities or expectations of staff.

Crossing boundaries is a massive concern I have if we gave you the keys to staff commands, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'll let you respond to the criticisms you've received on this thread, but unless one of my admins has a massive change of heart we'll be closing this in the next day or two.
