Previous staffing experienceI played TTT a good while ago and was admin on a server run by Aaron. None of that server exists now and the players all changed their names/don't play/dont respond to me.
If needed I can try to find old screenshots or you can try to contact some of the players (I can try to find more if needed.)
Why should you be considered for a moderator position?1. Do you meet all the minimum requirements listed in the Requirements Thread?
If not, please explain which requirement(s) you don’t meet and why.
I do believe I meet the requirements as mentioned above. Hours is close to 20 and I was told I could apply and be considered.
2. Why do you want to join the Giants Lair staff team?
I'm an old school player, 30 years old the end of this month! I spent so many hours playing TTT and zombie survival that I just loved. Basically have 2,000+ hours on gmod. I always like helping others, heck I've mentioned this but im the tall guy that helps the short fellas reach the top shelf and (omg one day) just had to run and help a guy who tipped his shopping rover/wheelchair with the other staff and a shopper.
Became a registered nurse to help others. Nothing makes me smile more than saying my and my brothers are all in the medical field and that I got raised by loving parents that support me so much now.
Being on disability and not being able to much stuff alone made me want to get back into old things like the games that made me laugh, smile, make friends and have fun. TTT was just that game for years, and being a part of the staff helping made it even more fun.
Nobody likes playing when the players don't play fair and follow the rules. Being able to help ensure that happens is something that I would just love to be able to do again! I've read the server specific rules and agree with what is listed and would love to help make sure they are followed and the gameplay is fun, that people and behaving in ways that is acceptable for all of us!
To join the team would make me so happy knowing that I can contribute to a nice and fair gameplay experience for everyone.
3. What skills or experiences do you bring to the team?
(e.g., past staffing, conflict resolution, technical knowledge, etc.)
- I have years of prior usage of computers and playing on TTT servers/other games... 2,000+ on Gmod alone. I have prior admin staffing experiences up to high-ranking admin positions on my old/no longer exists server... Yes... YEARS ago. The gameplay is coming back to me even with issues I did have. I ask questions to learn and get better at playing and in the case of being a moderator.
- I will read all I need to read, take in any advice and do what I can to become a person needed to fill a moderator position. I have prior moderator experiences on my old Gmod server run by Aaron. Sadly, Dinkleberg and a few other people who I no longer talk to are the only ones who can mention how I was. I’m ready to learn what I don’t know. Memories of prior things are coming back to me faster than I ever would've thought given it's been so many years since I last played any games! I have read what I could read in the rules set by the server/general knowledge of how to play TTT.
- Basically, I feel that I will and am able to learn what I would need to know/do as a moderator and fit the position without issues.
4. How active are you across our platforms (GMod, Discord, Forums)?
Provide a breakdown if possible.
- I am new to this server in the sense that I recently started playing with all of you that played in your prior server. But I hope I am a good new friendly voice in the chat! I am now active in all of the above and hope that I get the chance to help.
5. How much time can you realistically dedicate to staffing per week?
- Previously mentioned my medical issues. I won't be on too late at night, especially if it's closer to my medication taking time. That time I am usually spending time with my parents anyway. But I am usually on early and play hours a day. You can expect me probably way way too many hours a week. (Expect at least I'd say 20+ hours a week probably way way mkre.)
6. How well do you handle pressure, criticism, or heated situations?
- I have prior staffing experiences, yes long ago, but had no issues then nor will I have them now. It was stressful at times but I managed situations in a fair but strict when required manner.
When I was a PCT for my Neurology Unit while in Nursing school… I was the 6’2” technician the nurses asked to help turn/clean/flip alarm and run into the room for monitored patients (suicidal/brain injury and hits/attacks staff when not restrained/etc). I know when to say no and mean it. Yes. LifeLifeWithaSmile is the name I have now and I’ve said “Have a great day” to so many. But I know when to say no, and help say no. In my eyes, there’s no room in any server for unkind/bad breaking rules behavior. I won’t stand up for it and yes… I’ll say my “Please” stop first for minor things. But if there is anything serious and rule breaking, don’t think for a second I would put up with it!
- ANYTHING serious I don’t put up with. Period. I, like us all, want this to be a safe and fun server to play on.
7. How would you describe your conflict resolution style?
- I take conflict resolution in a fair manner. Both sides have a story and i view it important to learn both sides. I view it best to try to get a good resolution and have both sides able to talk (nicely- I dont approve of misbehaving/complete rudeness/rule breaking during such resolutions.)
I feel like talking it out and having both sides try to resolve it is important, but know when guidance and especially when interventions are needed.
8. Are you familiar with the TTT server rules and general community standards?
I behave in a mannor that I hope has shown that I am kind and respectful to others, play fairly and have read the rules, and generally am here to have fun and in the case of this application - help others and the server be fun, safe and a good experience for everyone!
9. What does your punishment history (if any) look like on our servers?
Be honest — transparency is appreciated.
- I have the basic history when it comes to punishments. Let's be real. Mistakes happen! When they do I own up to it, slain myself in the past and know when to say I'm sorry. There is no way I'd use this position to get out of having to play fair and nicely.
I do joke around. But I know what's too much and not good for gameplay and the community. So know I know what to do in regards of behaving nice and fairly!
10. What is your reputation like within the community?
Can you name any reputable players or staff who would vouch for you?
I believe there are several staff members by now that have gotten to know me a bit. I hope I've shown that I'm a person who wants to play a game here fairly and help everyone have fun!
Uncle Dad had mentioned that heh would vouch for me, but I hope everyone has had a good experience with me on the server and trust me, I'm going to do my best for it to stay that way.
In conclusion:
I'm here to have fun and play a game i loved for so many years again! To be a part of the server team and help make it that way not just for me, but everyone is precisely what I want to do!
