Pending Make AFKing irrelevant. Make the upgrade shop tailored to casual players, not dedicated ones.

Since it's technically a different suggestion than my last post;

AFKing does not have gameplay value. If so many people, especially mods and admins and especially the lead admins, feel like they aren't progressing fast enough by playing the game- That means there is something wrong with the game. If it's detrimentally impacting our staff, it's even worse for the enjoyment of people who aren't invested in Giant's Lair.

Not playing the game should never be the way to bypass a wall to progression, especially in a party game. Whatever the specifics are to the solution, it doesn't really matter, we just need to make the shop and point system be based on casual player experience- Not the diehards. My recommendation would be to make a few hours playing give enough to an upgrade so everyone can enjoy those and who cares if most dedicated players have all the upgrades by the end of the month. Then, just make Skins ludicrously expensive.

The system, at its core, needs to be something that doesn't have people AFKing to feel happy with progression.

Having ALL upgrades unlockable within a month as a casual player (Which means maybe 3 times a week, 2-3 hours) is a little much. Upgrades are meant to reward you for your time playing and if it’s easily obtained, it doesn’t have that rewarding progression feeling. Saving up points makes the server more fun, fun rounds more fun, and the lottery more fun.

I do agree prices are a bit too expensive. That being said the point shop prices are being worked on to be more affordable without AFKing. I don’t think all the upgrades should be unlockable within a month of casual gaming though.

I've been very vocal that a large pointshop pricing overhaul is imminent. Perhaps that hasn't been made clear in a public channel.

There is a rough estimate that as is, it would take around 1,925 hours of gameplay to max out all the current upgrades.

My current pricing rework would bring that down to...

Current Perks: 505 Hours
Current + Future Perks: 830 Hours

This only takes into consideration my pre-existing new Perk ideas, and not recent suggestions, so expect the final numbers to change in that regard.

Nono, I mean as a dedicated player should be able to unlock all that.

I was semi aware! I definitely didn't forget I heard that.

But, what I'm saying is that pricing/point gains should be aimed so there are no people who have a reason to AFK. If (some) players predominately earn points by AFKing, there is not really any point to the point shop being a barrier. All point/store adjustments should be made with the goal of eliminating AFK players, simply for the quality of life of players and server as a whole.

+1 afking while good stat wise for the server, its really bad for the average player, especially as someone who enjoys the latenight low pop, hopping on to a server that says 12-15 people on and it being nearly or straight up half full of afks is really disappointing. playing on a server with 12 active people is really fun, playing on aserver with 6 active people and 6+ afks? not fun, id rather hop off and do something else.

I don't think those stats are super important anymore, honestly. They'll grow organically anyways once we take off.

I also think that's way too much.
Someone playing the game as a full-time job shouldn't need half a year to unlock everything lmfao. That is completely untenable to casual players.
