Alright this may come accross a bit jumbled in places because its 1am and I am at a loss of words to explain the level of frustration I am feeling.
I have seen more than I should have seen about how recent discussions have taken place regarding the recent announcement, and the way those discussions have evolved pisses me off to no end. Jabba could have 30 people telling him that something is wrong, and he'll drag it in the direction he wants anyway under the guise of "discussion". The completely inappropriate staff announcement regarding sunny. The statement that an announcement will follow. Then having someone else post the announcements and field the follow-up questions.
I have asked numerous times for examples about what proper has done to warrant complete removal from the community like he wants. All Jabba would say is that multiple people have said they are uncomfortable with her. No examples, just "vibes". Yet, when multiple advisors+ bring up issues with how sunny conducts herself, it is met with the most vigorous defense and excuses. It took her saying the most vile things about another staff member's dead mother for her to get demoted. All of this, and Jabba is still making excuses like she was backed into or pushed to this.
Other Ryan: How the fuck is Jabba defending him chasing into someone's DMs about their bio. Before he even knew the content of said bio, he was already defending him asking if it was HC. Dude has been a constant thorn in the way that he brings up discussions, and has been talked to about it when discussing the israel-palestine conflict. Just look at the way he approached the whole issue. Additionally, if he thought there was something really wrong with the status, he would have reported it or handled it as staff. Instead he took it as a personal attack and instigated the conversation with an aggressive tone. Same thing for Jabba pinging the admin of said person while saying "I trust their judgement and stand by whatever they do" mid conversation before they have shared or had a chance to inform their own opinion. It's needless and inappropriate.
I have heard feedback from at least 8 different members of admin+ that they felt defeated or unheard following the discussions over the past week. That sentiment is something that I know more than a few of us mods share. Next time Jabba wants someone gone, he should just do it. He shouldn't create the illusion of "discussion" when he cant be talked down from it (having to be talked down from a perma ban for vibes is wild if you want to call this a community).
This is the direction the community is going in. A soft dictatorship. Yes, Jabba, you do have final say, but dont make it seem like we have a voice when you continue to ignore it.
