1. Do you meet all the minimum requirements listed in the Requirements Thread?
Yes, I've played 25 non AFK hours on the server so far and everything is properly linked.
2. Why do you want to join the Giants Lair staff team?
I'm looking to join the staff team because I am genuinely interested in the long term growth of the community and wish to contribute in any and every way that I can. I have an amount of time and knowledge to contribute that I believe the community will find extremely valuable. I've been having a fantastic time playing on the server reconnecting with old friends and potentially / hopefully making new ones! Staff members and regular members alike I have been getting along with very well and I'm excited to see where Giant's Lair heads and I intend to be a contributing part of it's direction.
3. What skills or experiences do you bring to the team?
As far as staffing capabilities go, I have a vast and extensive knowledge of the ruleset the community is using. I know the extended rules and the motd ruleset like the back of my own hand, I was always very good at this aspect of the position and from playing on the servers the past week I have forgotten very little if anything.
Another relevant thing that I believe I bring to the table is I am an excellent people person. I tend to get along with almost everyone and in the past week I have had fun with different people on the server every day. I don't keep to myself and hide, I try to put myself out there as much as possible, I like to talk and have a good time!
The last thing I want to mention in this section is I believe I am capable of handling conflict and/or differing perspectives very well. I am a clear and honest communicator so when a situation or topic does arise where I feel my input could be needed or valued I am always sure to be respectful and honest in my responses.
4. How active are you across our platforms (GMod, Discord, Forums)?
I've put in 25 hours on the server in the week the server has been open, I've been posting on the forums a bit, and I'm constantly talking in general on the Discord server.
5. How much time can you realistically dedicate to staffing per week?
I have a full time job that prevents me from playing all day but I can realistically be on at least 15 hours a week, probably more because I'm absolutely in love with the sgm style of TTT again.
6. How well do you handle pressure, criticism, or heated situations?
Very well and very calmly. Always calmly. I'm a full time retail general manager so I have people yelling at me and/or telling me random nonsense almost every day. SGM prepared me for that so I guess you can say my job has me prepared for this!
7. How would you describe your conflict resolution style?
I'm someone who priorities the "vibes" or the feel of the server and/or community so if there is ever conflict between myself and someone, it will be handled in a 1 on 1 conversation, conflict between two or more people in the server or community depending on the context and if it's a non harmful engaging topic, I sometimes find it best to let the involved parties resolve it themselves and not involve myself. Everything depends on the situation at hand and the context; If it ever drags on and it devolves into a non productive discussion is when I find it best to involve myself.
8. Are you familiar with the TTT server rules and general community standards?
Yes I am very familiar with them and they are all very reasonable.
9. What does your punishment history (if any) look like on our servers?
On Giants Lair nothing, and it's going to stay that way.
I feel like it would be dishonest however if I didn't mention that yes, I was COI banned shortly after I resigned from Administrator back in SGM in 2017, I do not remember every single detail, the important parts are there was understandable backlash from the community over lots of staff resigning at once, and I got into a couple of heated discussions / arguments on the forums where I had some choice words and eventually Highwon decided to COI ban me. I absolutely did not behave in a way you would want a community member to behave after I resigned, I was responding in an adverse manner to fabrications of facts and falsehoods about people I considered very close friends, and at the time I felt very strongly about trying to tell my/our side of the story. I actually learned quite a lot from that situation, and It was a mess and still is a mess trying to explain it all, if there is a specific concerning instance or something I am forgetting, I am more than open to talking about it publicly and/or privately.
10. What is your reputation like within the community?
It's been a bit and he's not gonna remember everything, but Darktooth can 100% be asked for some information about my history if it's needed! He'll have some good things to say.
That all being said, right now I feel like my reputation is pretty good to great! I'm contributing positively wherever I can, I'm engaging with genuine interest in the community, and we all seem to be having a great time. Zyp can attest to this, so could Panda With a Gun, and I hope some others too!
