Reason for Report
Frostymine111 exploded my base with tnt. This is in clear violation of the rules, as posted by wink.

Griefing: Destroying or Defacing another active player's build or adjacent wilderness. This is strictly against the rules, whether the land is claimed or not.

This thread was up at the time of the incident.

This is also like, just clearly insane grief. This user should be banned promptly for the insane grief. It's obviously against the rules too.

Oh gosh. I'm really sorry this situation happened in the first place.

There was an issue with lands, leading to this goofy situation. We've identified the issue the issue with lands, rolled back the devastation, and compensated you for your time.

As you noticed, our rules thread is getting a major face lift; I was going to redraft some things this weekend with the feedback we got (including the griefing rulings). I actually followed up on a claim adjacent question from @Siddo with this earlier this week:
For claim adjacent environments, it may be worthwhile to change the verbiage. My intention there was to weaponize the rules to justify rollbacks in those edge cas scenarios, not punishments on players.

If Siddo needs wood and cuts down all wink’s beautiful old growth trees lining his property that aren’t claimed he somehow spent hours and hours on, Siddo wouldn’t be punished. A rollback would be considered for wink in that circumstance, with a strong warning to claim what you value.

As for claim bordering claim shenanigans, we probably need a section for that. My mindset is you can do what you want with your claim in good faith. If there’s any goofy dickish bad faith behavior (i.e. claiming land then terraforming to bed rock and making a wither spawning hell outside other players walls), punishments and rollbacks should probably occur in tandem.

Given we've weaponized our rulings to rollback your land (and the rulings aren't finalized yet, there's some community members who have disagreed with the takes of griefing vs. unclaimed land buildings), I really think the punishment of wasted resources on Frosty's end and a verbal "Don't do it again" is all that's needed here. I'll leave this open for a response in case you feel I missed the mark here.

Okay, sounds good to me. I think next time we should like, be more transparent in the punishment of such things. Or at least tell the effect party the outcome so they aren't left in the dark thinking that this server just openly allows griefing.

As to the matter of my land being deleted in the first place... was it a staff member, or a developer? If it was a developer, I think the server needs to know. Developers shouldn't have access to my private information, like my legal name and email address and possibly physical address from paypal purchases. They also shouldn't have my private information that was given when creating the forum account, like my email address, if they're gonna abuse their powers in such a way.

Only if it was a developer would I feel so passionately about this. If it was a regular admin, I'm sure they'd already be demoted. But no minecraft staff has been demoted, so one can only assume the reason why....
