How much time will you be able to dedicate to staffing?
It depends on the week, but 5-15 hrs per week should be fairly typical. I run a business and have a family, and obviously both come first.
Previous Staffing Experience
Previously I was a Moderator, Administrator, and Lead Admin during the STTT era, into the SGM era.

Since then, I have tried to stay active in the discussions and emergent situations on Giant's Lair for about a year now as an Advisor. While this isn't a position with much authority, it has been my privilege to lend my point of view (asked and un-asked) to many members of the TTT staff.

Otherwise, I have years of management and leadership experience through my work. I have taught classes, designed training programs, and overseen large teams of people. If it says anything, my business hasn't gone under yet.
How do you intend to make the server welcoming and bring new players in?
I firmly believe that new players respond well to both rigidly defined and enforced rules, as well as friendly welcoming atmosphere. By ensuring that the rules are maintained and the social contract is respected, people recognize a consistent and safe environment in which they can feel confident investing their valuable time.

Contrasting to that, joking with members of the community and making personal connections, I can aim to humanize the staff members on the server and grow our pool of regulars.

I'm not sure you have the qualifications tbh.

EDIT: Actually, now that I actually read your application, I actually do have a question.

You mention that you firmly believe that new players respond well to both rigidly defined and enforced rules. At GL, there has been an emphasis on having a bit of leniency compared to SGM. Relative to SGM, there is a bit more flexibility to bend not so much the "rules" persay, however, enforcement, absolutely. I know some of the conversations you and I have had in the advisors section have absolutely been in disagreements in this realm as well. What are your thoughts here? <3

Of course!

To me, rigidly defined and enforced rules doesn't necessarily mean coming down like the hammer of God and giving the maximum punishment for every offense. Rather, it's about giving people predictable actions and consequences. If someone randomly comes onto the servers, knowingly breaks the rules, and expects anything other than the standard punishment as defined by the rules? They're crazy.

But if a regular in otherwise good standing makes a mistake? Of course leniency should be shown. If you'll recall, nearly every person I've sincerely advocated against has at this point been permanently banned from this community. That doesn't happen because someone made a mistake once, it happens because they have a pattern of behavior that harms the community or they do something repulsive.

That being said, you also know that I have admitted to both myself and others that I naturally have the urge to be a bit "Judge Dreddy". Acknowledging that internal urge isn't the same as indulging in that urge. I understand the general temperament of this new community and I respect the heck out of it. I've seen that people have been able to grow past their mistakes and cultivate a better relationship with GL.

I don't intend to mess with that formula.

It makes me very happy to see you take any kind of interest in a staff role here, and I would be ecstatic to have your voice in more conversations and being more present, so ultimately if you want a role here, I think you should have it.

I always liked your style of staffing, as I saw you as a very fun and positive contributor, but still possess a really strong "compass" if you will. You're really good at giving hard truths generally, you've been a long time mentor to me as well. Just a generally positive addition to whatever role you want to inhabit here, massive +1.
