Spamming the damagelogs makes everyone who looks at it overflow and get disconnected... not sure if this was always the case. Many ways of spamming it.
The error is: `(Client # overflowed reliable channel.)`

Edit: Well maybe not everyone, since some people can allegedly open it.
 
I would say this is probably in regards to players not running the 64 bit version of the game. When we were doing the testing before the server released, trying to open the points shop would cause those not in the 64bit to crash, while those using the 6 4bit could spam f3 all day and nothing would happen

You would think but I actualy got booted off too and I'm on x86-64 branch of GMod.
 
Mind you, the only times I have gotten disconnected from overflow were from executing too many console commands.
I'm having trouble creating an example, but if the damagelog somehow makes the clients execute console commands for each line(or makes them send some request to the server), then that could be related...
Like, it was always a case of the client sending a bunch of stuff to the server that triggered the overflow disconnect for me, even on a singleplayer server, never the other way around.
