Went down the rabbit hole of a whole bunch of wild TTT2 stuff , and wanted to push something out to gauge interest.
TTT2 is "updated" TTT code that includes sprinting, an oxygen meter, compatibility with all things base TTT, updated admin commands, and supports additional roles by default. The additional roles would the star of an event server, transforming TTT into something more Town of Salemesque.
What would a "TTT2 Role Anarchy" Server entail?
Let's start with the suggested roles before we get to "Anarchy".
(The whole list of roles is here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1737053146 , I picked some interesting ones for discussions sake)
As you can see, there's a lot of wild stuff the roles bring to the table. It creates scenarios where traitor buddies could try to kill each other trying to sniff out a spy, instances where traitors and innocents might try teaming up to kill a thief, or innocents ganging up a detective since they suspect him of being a defective. Given how wild and wacky scenarios the roles can lead us to, I'm proposing something akin to this suggestion as a guideline for such an event server when it comes to RDM: https://giantslair.com/threads/remove-all-rdm-rules.554
As long as there is some form of logical merit in the kill even if it was incorrect or based off "sus", I think it should be allowed during such an event and let karma dictate the pace for the most part.
Is there even interest in this? TTT2 is dead across the board on the serverlist.
I made this suggestion public facing to see if there's any interest in at least a trial as an event server; if we really dip our toes into it and see what wild things happen with the roles, I'm curious how much of our playerbase gives it a fair shake and how many new friends we may attract during a limited time test of such a thing. It would be neat to get some of our TTT staples on there for such an event, but this is already a big ask of our dev team for a risk.
