Previous staffing experience
I am currently a Moderator on Pepenetwork. But that server has died unfortunately .... I also used to run my own server about 15 years ago. Also, I know it's not fully related to gmod, but I also used to help run a few world of warcraft private servers over the last decade or so. So, I have a lot of experience in moderating servers.
Why should you be considered for a moderator position?
So, first and foremost, I want to be as straight up front as possible. I have not played the required amount on the server. HOWEVER... I think I should still be considered for it based on my experience alone. First, let me ask you: How many 27 year olds have roughly 15 years of experience moderating? Probably not very many. When I wasn't moderating a server for TTT or WoW, I was working as a manager for AT&T in my city's mall as a manager. I did that for roughly 5 years. Now, I suffer from severe anxiety and can't work. So, I'm here to offer my unemployment time to you. If not having the required time is too much of an issue, give me literally 2 days and I'll have the required time. Now let's get into why who I am should get me put on staff.

1. I'm a very kind and caring person.
2. I have a sense of humor that many can relate to.
3. I'm autistic, so I'm very detail oriented and hyperaware.
4. I'm all about including everyone into the fun.
5. I don't get bored of things super quickly. I'm all about being loyal and sticking to one place.

Thank you for taking the time to read my application even without me having the required amount of time. And thank you for considering my time for your server.

Thanks for taking the time to apply!

I'm excited to see you applying so soon after joining, but it is indeed quite soon after joining. I think two worries I'd have with you applying so soon is;
1) Do you know the rules and vibe of the server in-depth enough to apply the rules fairly?
2) Are you applying for a short term as mod or looking to become a more permanent fixture in our community?

I don't feel confident picking you up right off the bat. I'll be looking out to see how you're getting along and if I (or the others) like what we see, we'll let you know <3

I would like to assume that I can adapt to most situations pretty significantly well.
2) Are you applying for a short term as mod or looking to become a more permanent fixture in our community?
100% permanent. I've been playing gmod since I was like 10 years old I think. On and off of course. I just want a nice lil server to settle on down in

How different is our ruleset than your past community? Did they have a grace period? Overtime stipulations? How did they handle what a proper warning was for explosive t weapons like jihads?

Have you issued hacking bans in the past? What evidence requirement did they uphold you to for those bans?

The ruleset is very similar. During overtime, we would pressure the traitors a little more. You could kill AFKs during overtime if no staff was online to put them in spectator. For any t weapons, basically, if you didn't announce that you found a T weapon, you would be killed if you had one as an inno.

I have issued many bans for hacking in my time. I always ran OBS/FRAPS and would provide video evidence. But they would require either multiple reports or video evidence posted in the discord

I’d advise you that playing on our servers and letting this application marinate a few weeks will help you a lot. Even being well over the hour requirement when I applied, there were a handful of things I needed to correct my knowledge base on; former experience or not, I couldn’t imagine trying to stumble in and attempt to enforce our broad ruleset that soon.

Hey Vulchan,

I wanted to bring up a concern I've seen a couple times already. You'll hop on the server, and within a short period of time you'll be upset with someone else who is playing and then you will leave. As staff we expect you to be able to handle these kind of situations with grace, and to show a bit of thick skin when it comes to people who rub you the wrong way.

How will you handle these kind of situations should a promotion happen in the future?

I'm also concerned about your hours, while you haven't been a part of the community very long yet, you seem to not be getting much playtime in as it stands, is this still something that interests you or was it a passing fluke that you are now reconsidering?

Thank you for your application and I do await your response <3

Hi Vulchan,

I'm going to be denying this Application at this time - you have a total of 4 hours of playtime in the server since joining 11 days ago, and the bulk of that playtime was in your first couple days. This demonstrates a lack of engagement in the community, which is also shown by your lack of forum and/or discord presence.

In addition, the feedback left by etched is something we would like you to work on before reapplying again if you decide to.

Lastly, you mentioned to me that your time spent on WoW is proving fruitful for you, so you are invested in that. That's great, I wish you nothing but the best. However, it has proven you unable to interact with us at this time.

You will be able to submit another application on November 2nd. When you submit this application if you choose to, you will be required to have the appropriate amount of playtime and proper engagement in the community.

Thanks

-rog
