Previous staffing experienceI have had two trial moderator attempts at this server, and I applied way too early before I had a solid basis. I feel like now with the 13+ hours of gameplay, knowledge of server rules and players much more than before, that I have a solid ground for applying again. I severed on another server as Moderator+ but that was 10 years or so ago.
Why should you be considered for a moderator position?- Do you meet all the minimum requirements listed in the Requirements Thread?
If not, please explain which requirement(s) you don’t meet and why.
Yes. This time I truly feel with the 13 days of hours, prior trial experiences, learning the server more and staff, an easier to read rule guide and more that I have a shot at getting this position down and can contribute to helping make the server fun and enjoyable for everyone! Again, I have asked and have been approved in being allowed to submit this application despite my past trial mod phases.
2. Why do you want to join the Giants Lair staff team?
Like I mentioned in prior applications… I’m an old school game player, now 30 years old. 2,000+ hours playing Gmod with most of those hours on TTT, with some Zombie Survival mixed in there. I love, simply love TTT and this happens to be a very good get-away from thing going on/made some amazing friends here/have had so much fun every time I play usually 1-3 hours daily. - One BIG plus for me in this time applying is now having 13 days of hours playing vs the minimum to little amount compared to now. This has given me SO SO much more experience playing, talking to people in the game and making friends staff and non-staff alike to where I feel SO much more comfortable applying this time around. I needed a solid basis of just playing that I didn’t quite have before. I truly feel like I have that now, and believe I can overcome the issues I had in the past application processes I had on this server.
- Overall, I want to join because this game brings fun to my day, everyday I play. To be able to help as a staff member would one – bring me back some of those (Not challenge, but skills working with people and handling situations) I had as a nurse when I could work, stimulate my brain in those aspects… But overall, just have fun on the server I love and keep the gameplay going smoothly for everyone!
3. What skills or experiences do you bring to the team?
(e.g., past staffing, conflict resolution, technical knowledge, etc.)
I have mentioned quite a bit of this before in prior applications, but I hope to expand the answer to help show I have improved. - - I have years of prior usage of computers and playing on TTT servers/other games... 2,000+ on Gmod alone. I have prior admin staffing experiences up to high-ranking admin positions on an old server years ago. The gameplay is coming back to me even with issues I did have after the 13 days of hours+ playing and support I’ve had. I have always and am never afraid to ask questions to learn and get better at playing and in the case of being a moderator.
- - I now feel I have a much more solid basis of playing that I did prior applications. So much so that I feel I truly have a shot at overcoming the issues I’ve had in the past! These hours are what I needed before – a sold relearning of the TTT gameplay and just making friends again with the staff and non-staff alike. I would love to expand that to the server as a moderator again.
4. How active are you across our platforms (GMod, Discord, Forums)?[/B] - As I have mentioned, I have over 13 days of hours since playing and I’m VERY sure everyone has heard my “Hope you/everyone has/had a great day/night!” I always try to bring positivity to every game, platform (I talk on discord and have multiple forum posts now daily.) Just talking to others has been a major uplifting to my life if I’m honest. And making friends I‘ve made here – I can just say there is no way I’ll be gone anytime soon.
5. How much time can you realistically dedicate to staffing per week?
I can predict 20 hours a week at least. I play during minimal players to 10-20 usually and am off by 8ish PM my time most days. Early bird, early player. But I’ve always found people to TTT with and feel I can definitely help the server more during these hours where there isn’t an abundance of staff online!
6. How well do you handle pressure, criticism, or heated situations?
In life my answer is similar to prior applications. - - I have prior staffing experiences, yes long ago, but had no issues then. I realize that I have had some learning issues though and this is my obvious third application. I feel like I have it down this time to where having the time I needed to get a solid basis of gameplay FIRST was my biggest issue. Having a great knowledge and friendship with the staff and majority of players just adds to how I feel I would do better this time
- Like mentioned, when I was a PCT for my Neurology Unit while in Nursing school… I was the 6’2” technician the nurses asked to help turn/clean/flip alarm and run into the room for monitored patients (suicidal/brain injury and hits/attacks staff when not restrained/etc). I know when to say no and mean it. – Especially when it comes to serious offenses and topics. In general life, as a nurse, and yes – in game too… And again Yes. LifeLifeWithaSmile is the name I have now and I’ve said “Have a great day” to so many. Make NO mistake. I know when to say “no”, and help say no. In my eyes, there’s no room in any server for unkind/bad breaking rules behavior. I won’t stand up for it and yes… I’ll say my “Please” stop first for minor things. But if there is anything serious and rule breaking, don’t think for a second I would put up with it! I record my gameplay most of the time and will have a solid backing behind any action I take. - ANYTHING serious I don’t put up with. Period. I, like us all, want this to be a safe and fun server to play on.
7. How would you describe your conflict resolution style?
There are two sides to every coin, and yes, disagreements/argument and such. Open eyes, eyes and the tools provided as a staff member (death scene, chat logs/damage logs/etc) only help put a backing to finding out what when wrong, who did what, and how to close an argument. I like to have a solid basis for actions I take and words I say. I would do my best to hear both sides and conclude a conflict, but I won’t allow rule breaking and would follow the rule guidelines in handling conflicts that can’t be resolved through talking.
8. Are you familiar with the TTT server rules and general community standards?
I hope that I’ve shown in how I communicate with staff and players that I have a polite and generally good outlook in life/how to treat people nicely/be a good person overall. I don’t break rules and will go by the community standards/teaching of staffing methods in dealing with rule breaking that can’t be handled through just verbal communication.
9. What does your punishment history (if any) look like on our servers? - I would say most, if not all staff members can make positive comments on my reputation, attitude/behavior/general demeanor and how I treat others. And I am positive that only positive/maybe talks to much comments would only come to mind. I do believe I have around 4 slays? In those house I’ve played, and admit to any mistake I make with apologies, not arguments.
10. What is your reputation like within the community?
Can you name any reputable players or staff who would vouch for you? - I have asked, especially after my first two trials and answered any concerns/questions to the staff I asked support from. From who I asked, those so far are:
- Elvis
- Pigeon
- Husky
- Zyp
- SiddoSnow
- Shaddoll
- Arcana
- CelDamage
- Muffin
- Prozakk
- GimcSnooper
- Pixie Dimitri
- LordyHGH
- Lync
- ActzMurderer
- I’m sure there are multiple other members and staff that would comment if asked. But these are the staff members that I’ve played in game with more frequently and know how I’ve been doing. They’ve all agreed that I could potentially be a good staff member and have said yes in supporting me application.
- Personal thank you for this opportunity to apply again as staff. I can’t express how much I appreciate it.
