I'm a person that disagrees with a lot of things, however I very heavily sympathize with what this community has had to go through as a result. No one person or group deserves to be targeted like this in a place like this. This is a fucking Garry's Mod TTT and Minecraft community. We should be talking about Garry's Mod and Minecraft updates; not what happening in the US, not what's happening in the world, nothing like that. We should be talking about Mojang adding new animals and how Garry doesn't care about this game anymore.
You are all too online. You want to think of what is "right" but don't understand that your own thoughts are being influenced by things around you, how others perceive you, and by your own preconception of how someone might perceive you as a member of this "community," rather than being authentic to one another. It seems like you idiots can't see another living human being's point of view on a situation, and would rather villainize someone over an arbitrary ruleset, than try to see where they're coming from and humanize with them.
You all want to be friends, you all want to be with the "in group." You want everyone to get along and be so close to each other, but fail to see that as long as you have a policing force in the community you can never truly have equals. The policing body is always going to be close with one another, and be the "face" of the community. And because of that the community members that frequent this space are going to want to be close with that "popular group," who is actually actively waiting for them to makes a mistake and punish them for it. The community member that was trying to have an honest moment of connection with the "face of the community" and subsequently gets punished for it, is obviously going to bear resent towards you.
That's never going to work. We've seen it happen what, 4 or 6 times now? STTT almost died 3-4 times; finally did and then you guys went through 3 different communities and never learned that this whole popularity contest is what kills the community ever single fucking time. You can't keep making this exclusive "in group" within the community and then wondering why the rest of the community eventually ends up rebelling against that "in group" with a misappropriate power to the people.
You guys are all fucking idiots, have never made a community full of equals, and then wondered why everyone gets mad at each other. THE STAFF TEAM IS THE REAL COMMUNITY. YOU ALL SELECTIVELY CHOOSE ONE ANOTHER AND THEN GET UPSET WHEN THE UNCHOOSEN STICK AROUND INSTEAD OF TELLING THEM THAT THEY'RE UNWELCOME!! You want to say you will include everyone, but obviously ignore the very clear reasons as to why not everyone gets along and why certain people were removed from the past communities.
A lot of the discussion lately has been about how this community is repeating past failures, and how it's going to fail. Yet none of you are talking about how you're going to change and better yourselves in order to keep going. Jabba made an announcement about changes, and some of you have expressed your displeasure with that. But he's the only one actively trying to do something different, actually take a stance and remove the people he doesn't like and deems an adversary to the community and to the "in group." Yet I already know that you guys are gonna keep clinging on to your weak hope and desires, sweep this whole thing under the rug because enough of you decided to put up with it, keep your mouth shut and keep pushing onto the next day. But guess what? This dickhead Jabba tried to give you all a space, but YOU motherfuckers allowed this to happen again. You couldn't get along with each other because maybe you wanted to part of the "popular kids" as well, but look at where it got you guys again.
You guys decided to form another clique within each other and the community, and then want to act confused when the community isn't one cohesive group that gets along with each other.
Hopefully in the next attempt at a community or discord server you guys will realize that you really want it to be an "invite only" kind of place and not make the weak attempt at including everyone. Or maybe give the community more autonomy on what happens here. I don't know, your TTT server isn't even active enough for me to be here enough. I'm just a slut for drama.good luck retards
i'd prob phrase it in a nicer way, but tz is spitting nothing but facts here. the biggest problem at sgm was always the concept of the "in group", it just felt like high school but in a video game 90% of the time. the "in group" would occasionally change, but there was always a clear hierarchy of "these are the important people, and then there's everyone else". if you weren't connected to that group, your opinions were either invalid, disregarded, wrong, or if you were actually right, the rules were changed to make you wrong. my only warning point on the sgm forums was posting in a ban appeal at the request of the person appealing as i had evidence, which should have been more than acceptable due to them asking me in the thread to appeal, however i was still given a warning bc the "in group" didn't want to be questioned by me. the only way to actually fix things is to be brutally honest about the issues being faced and doing everything in your power to bring about change, not by reacting with "confusing" to the one post that actually calls out the problem.
or just ignore the problem. like tz said, surely it won't happen a 7th, 8th, 9th, or even 15th time
